PREMIERE SEASON

Conceived as a chamber opera with a duration of 90 minutes, ANTARCTICA engages a cast of five singers for solo and chorus roles and chamber ensemble with electronic accompaniment. Under the direction of award-winning director, Imara Savage, the aesthetic captures the essence of a complex interweaving of story, language, philosophies and scientific phenomena.

Acclaimed resident ensemble of Carriageworks, Sydney Chamber Opera will join forces with leading Dutch chamber orchestra Asko | Schönberg Ensemble to premiere ANTARCTICA in 2022 in Amsterdam, Holland followed by Sydney, Australia.
